We are firing up the burners on February 3rd for a cooking competition at God’s Pantry Food Bank Headquarters. It's our own "Iron Chef" like event.
The doors will open at 5:30pm, then starting at 6pm we will send 5 teams of cooks scrambling for a total of 1 hour to prep...are a delicious meal from a mystery box of basic ingredients. While you watch the cooking showdown, you'll be invited to enjoy a cup of piping hot soup prepared by our distinguished chef judges and served to you by the The Lexington School, Culinary Arts students.
How, you ask, are we going to transform a warehouse into a culinary arena??? We've partnered with the C. Worth Superstore so that our cooks can sear, chop and sizzle their way to victory. Thanks to C. Worth Superstore for helping make this event a grand success!
As always, this Debra's Social Stimulus event is family-friendly, free and open to the public.
All of our events are about doing good while having fun.
We are going to help God's Pantry Food Bank. This organization is Kentucky's largest food bank serving a record number of people who are struggling to make ends meet.
Each person helped by God's Pantry has a name, a face, a story, and they have all hit hard times. They are children, families, men, women, the employed, the unemployed; and, they do not know where their next meal is coming from. Meanwhile, contributions to help fill the agencies across 50 counties served by God’s Pantry are simply not keeping pace with the demand. It seems that there is no end in sight.
DO NOT BRING CANNED GOODS on February 3! Why? Because you will be able to purchase food for others at our event by donating to the silent auctions. That's right, you will be able to purchase one meal to feed a family for a day, a week, a month, a year or buy a pallet of food that will feed the masses The purchasing power of God's Pantry will go much further than you and I can possibly do on our own.
We are tremendously excited about COOKS FOR A CAUSE cooking showdown. Our very own "Iron Chef" like event. Take a look at the chef judges and cook competitors that we will have on hand for this
